Description
The Smith and Wesson 500 is currently the most powerful production revolver in the world today. Touted as the premier weapon for serious hand-gun hunters; the 500 fires five-500 S&W Magnum rounds which are said to be effective when hunting “any game animal walking” (from S&W’s website). The S&W 500 was developed in 2003 and commenced the use of the new “X frame”. The double-action revolver boasts the ability of firing a 350 grain round at over 3,000 ft/lb. of muzzle energy, capable of effectively killing game in excess of 200 yards. While all this power naturally possesses equally large recoil, many models come with standard muzzle compensators.
