Description
The Ruger P85 was the first weapon in the “P Series” of pistols first introduced in 1985 and developed by Sturm, Ruger & Company. While the P85 was designed with the intent to replace the US Army’s Model 1911A1 as the new 9mm sidearm, it was marketed as both a personal defense weapon as well as a service handgun. The P85 is a double-action, centerfire, semi-automatic pistol that fires fifteen-9mm rounds. Although the weapon has a clunky appearance, it is a lighter handgun due to its aluminum frame and is hyped as being extremely rugged and robust.
