Description
The M1 Garand is the highly celebrated and acclaimed rifle which served as the staple firearm of the US Military from 1936 to 1963. This gas operated, magazine fed firearm saw action in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The “Garand” was the consequence of years of research and development by the firearm genius, John C. Garand. The Garand was the first semiautomatic to be fielded as the standard infantry rifle by any nation.
The M1 Garand was considered by General Patton to be “The greatest battle implement ever devised” and he went on to further credit it as having made a major contribution to the Allies success in of WWII.
