Description
As the civilian version of the official side arm of the Czech Republic Army, the CZ-82, the CZ-83 is a blowback-operated, double-action pistol with an almost entirely steel assembly. The CZ-82 was developed specifically or the Czechoslovakian military in 1982 to replace their then-standard Tokarev TT’s. The Czech Republic recognized the commercial potential the CZ-82 had in the international civilian market and thus, in 1992 began to produce the CZ-83. Since 1992, the CZ-83 has been touted as a heavy yet durable firearm, relative to similarly sized handguns. Additionally, this extra weight attributes to a much more manageable recoil during rapid firing.
