Description

Colt’s Detective Special was simply a condensed version of the Police Positive and was first introduced in 1927. When it was introduced, the Detective Special was unlike any other concealable weapon available; being a premium swing-out, 6-shot revolver made to accommodate large rounds. Sporting a short-barrel and a rounded butt this class of gun was traditionally popular for use as a concealed weapon by plain-clothes police. As a widely used backup weapon, Colt produced an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Detective Specials from 1927 until production ceased in 1986 with many model variations.

This model is nickel plated.
