Come-along" cuffs, also known as "nippers," are a type of single-handcuff restraint that was popular in the early to mid-20th century, particularly with American and German police forces. Invented in the 19th century, these devices were used by officers to quickly and securely restrain a single wrist, often used in combination with a leather strap or a chain. Unlike modern two-handcuff restraints, the officer would hold the other end of the "come-along," using it to control and lead a prisoner. EST.1882
